Lit2Go

Before you set off on your summer break, Isabel and I would like to recommend you a website where you will find plenty of reading and listening material to last you… at least a few summers!

Lit2Go is a project by the University of Florida where you will find a wide variety of classical works, not only literary (spanning all genres, from short story to theatre, novel, children literature, poetry…) but also philosophical, political, historical, scientific, etc…

Each text is presented both in mp3 format (you can listen online or download) and in written format (available for download as pdf files). Longer books are broken down in chapters, and there is also a suggested activity for every reading.

Also useful is the classification of the texts according to their difficulty. At Lit2Go they use a scale called the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level, where texts fall into a scale from K to 12, K being the easiest and 12 the hardest.

Concerning this month’s reading, you can find several Lewis Carroll’s books available at Lit2Go, including of course Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Don’t know what to choose from all the readings on the website? I myself hav
e recently read and enjoyed very much
The Wind In The Willows, another classic work of English children’s literature that tells the adventures of a group of animals living near a river in the countryside. It is a poetic, humorous, bucolic and very sweet read about friendship and everyday pleasures.

Enjoy summer, and we both hope to see you again in September, with more literature to share!
